Tanner Street Economic Development Plan

Got an email about an interesting community workshop coming up in a few weeks:
The first Community Workshop for the Tanner Street District Economic Development Plan is scheduled for Monday, January 23, 2012 at 6:00PM at the LRTA Building - 100 Hale Street.  Click here for the meeting flyer.  All are welcome!!

  1. Good Morning: I am researching Lowell for my family history and stumbled upon your blogspot, to my joy! Your pictures contain the raw footage that a genealogist can celebrate. They contain images so pure that I can imagine standing there with a camera. I wondered if you could help me with a location...Abbott Boarding House on Central Avenue in Lowell. My ggrandmother, Ellen Ryan Conway immigrated from Ireland in 1875 and on the 1880 census she was boarding at the Hermon Abbott boarding house while working at the Cotton Mill. The census gives Central Avenue as the location. Thank you for your crisp images of Lowell. Pam

  2. Thanks for visiting! Do you have a more precise address? There is a Central St, but I'm not familiar with a Central Ave... Here is a map from the time period you're talking about http://libweb.uml.edu/clh/Atlas/1879/In.htm but unfortunately, there seems to be no good index...
